After fifteen years of dedication and service, bringing smiles, warming hearts and doing fire prevention tricks for all who met her, our beloved mascot, BLAZE the fire dog, has gone to doggie heaven. Although she will surely be missed, her spirit will live on because she will remain our California Fire Museum mascot and an icon of the California Fire Service.

The sadness of her loss has been offset by a great new little fire dog named DOTTIE, who will carry on Blaze’s fire dog tradition by continuing to promote fire safety education messages on our web site, and travel to events visiting with children and their parents in the interest of fire prevention.

Safety Tip: Time to review your HOME ESCAPE PLAN which includes picking a family meeting place outside where everyone can meet. You can get more information about home safety plans at the Orange County Fire Authority site: http://www.ocfa.org/
